The McGaugh Jesters are ambassadors of the "Friends of McGaugh Media Center" program. This program is a special way to honor someone on a birthday or a holiday, for a special achievement such as an award or promotion, or just for fun. Through dedicated book donations, the McGaugh Media Center has added over 2000 new books. This program has truly been instrumental in making our library the amazing library it is!

How does it work? 

The book will be read aloud in class by one of the McGaugh Jesters to honor the recipient. A bookplate with a special message will be placed inside the book and the child will also receive a card and surprise goodie from the jester. The dedicated book can be enjoyed at home for one week before being returned to the school library. The book with the inscription will remain in the library for years and years to come and can be checked out again at any time! 

A Jester visit truly is a memory your child will have forever and is a program you won’t find anywhere else. It is one of the many things that makes McGaugh so special.

It costs $25 to schedule a Jester visit, and you must complete the book dedication form >> HERE <<

IMPORTANT:  Please allow at least two weeks for processing. The target dedication date cannot be guaranteed!  The dedication will take place as close to the target date as possible based on classroom teacher's time restraints and the Jester volunteer availability.

 Do you enjoy reading a good book to your kids?

 Are you available during school hours for 20 minutes of time, a few times a month?

 Do you love wearing a costume and making kids smile?

If you like to have fun and want to help kids feel special, we would love for you to become a part of our special program. There is no minimum commitment, and any support is appreciated and needed. Any Jester will tell you it is one of the most rewarding and joyful volunteer jobs around!
