Please join us for our next PTA Meeting this Thursday, December 1st at 8:00 AM in KIDS KORNER (location change from the auditorium). Join us this week as we wrap up November, discuss what is coming in December and January, discuss school gift contributions and ask for ideas from all of you! We will also have SBPD on site to give us a short overview of their upcoming presentation "Surviving Gun Violence" happening on December 8th from 6:00-8:00 PM in the McGaugh Auditorium.
PTA meetings are also your chance to ask questions, voice concerns and be a part of the conversation.
EVERY VOICE MATTERS
FIRST MEETING THIS WEDNESDAY 11/30!
Come join the International Culture Club this Wednesday, November 30th at 1:30 PM in the Media Center to discuss the 2023 International Day. Last year's event was a huge success, highlighting six countries for students to "visit". ICC parent volunteers brought these nations to the McGaugh campus by creating elaborate displays that each student toured with their class. During the event, students had their passports stamped, learned fascinating facts about each country, sampled international treats, and participated in interactive performances and exhibits.
Be part of the magic of making this day happen by attending our first meeting this Wednesday. And to learn more about the International Culture Club, visit their website at mcgaughpta.com/icc
Partnering With Your School to Support Student Success
The Los Alamitos Unified School District invites you to a parent education night: Partnering With Your School to Support Student Wellness led by elementary Wellness Counselor, Stacy Eatmon, LCSW. The parent education night will focus on mental health and wellness resources offered at our elementary schools and how to extend these supports at home.
This event will be in person on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 from 6:00PM to 7:00PM and will be held at Weaver Elementary School in the Multi-Purpose Room. The District will be hosting several mental health and wellness parent education opportunities throughout the school year. See the flyer below for additional information.
Should you have any questions about the event, please contact Grace Delk, Director, Special Education and Mental Health at firstname.lastname@example.org
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2022 Reflections "Show Your Voice" Art Program. We had a RECORD number of 64 entries this year! Winners who received a "Award of Excellence" have already been moved on to be judged at the District level. If your child has been selected to move further on you will be notified.
All winners will be receiving a trophy and recognized on stage during our next Character Counts assembly in December, and all participants who were not selected as a winner in their category will receive a recognition metal for participating.
THANK YOU to our amazing Reflections Committee, Beth Pearson, Jeannette Andruss, Evelyn Garcia, Rachel Lamphear, and Valeria Dropkin for everything you did to make this such a fun event for this year, including displaying at our carnival and setting up an after-school event to help facilitate art entries.
ATTENTION MILITARY FAMILIES!
Please join McGaugh PTA and Seal Beach Police Department for a presentation on “Surviving Gun Violence”. Although the presentation is not focused specifically on an active shooter incident on a school campus, it is open to all McGaugh parents and Seal Beach community members (18 and older please).
