Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2025 Reflections "I Belong" Art Program! This year we had a wonderful array of art submitted to Reflections, with 46 entries! We are so proud of the creativity presented by our McGaugh Sea Lions and enjoyed celebrating all the participants at our school assembly on Friday, December 5th. All participants were presented with a recognition medal for their creativity and effort, and trophies were given for those who placed 1st through 3rd in their divisions.

An extra THANK YOU! to all the amazing people who came together to help make this such a fun event for our kids, including Faith Reed, for opening up her beautiful "Let's Go Paint!" art studio for our Reflections creative corner!

Update (as of March 15th):

We are excited to announce that three of our McGaugh submissions advanced to Fourth District PTA. Congratulations to Emily Spalasso, Lilianna Hanna and Oliver Sepulveda Williams!

Fifth grader Oliver Sepulveda Williams was then awarded the Award of Excellence at the Fourth District PTA and has advanced to the California State PTA for further consideration in the Reflections art contest! Special congrats to Oliver! He is one of just two students from the entire district to advance to the state level.

Oliver was recognized at last week's Los Alamitos USD Board of Education meeting during Supt. Andrew Pulver's report. Watch here. We are proud of you, Oliver!
